Rabbi Yochonon Goldman 

Rabbi Yochonon Goldman was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. He has been the Spiritual Leader of Historic Congregation B’nai Abraham since January 2000, when together with his wife Leah, they were appointed as emissaries of the Lubavitcher Rebbe to Philadelphia. In 2006, Rabbi Goldman founded the Zaslow Institute of Jewish Learning, whose mission is to make the Torah’s wisdom accessible in a meaningful and relevant way to Jews of all walks of life. Topics of past seminars include Jewish Medical Ethics, Business Ethics, Mysticism and Spirituality, and classical Jewish Textual study. Rabbi Goldman also serves as a volunteer chaplain for the Jewish inmates at the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia. After completing his Rabbinical Studies and Ordination at the Central Chabad Yeshiva in New York, Rabbi Goldman continued his Post-Ordination research in Jerusalem, completing postgraduate studies in Jewish Divorce Law, while also teaching at the Mayanot Institute of Jewish studies in Jerusalem. Throughout Rabbinical School, Rabbi Goldman did extensive community work which included Adult Education, University Campus classes, Rabbinic intern helping to build communities in the following locations: New Haven, CT; Marietta, GA; St George’s, Grenada; Cape Town and Plettenberg Bay, South Africa; Guayaquil, Ecuador; Dnieperpotrovsk, Ukraine; Kobe, Japan and Shanghai, China. Rabbi and Rebbetzin Goldman are the proud parents of seven children.

Rebbetzin Leah Goldman

Leah Goldman was born and raised in Israel where her family still resides in Tel Aviv. After completing her studies and receiving her degree in education at Beth Rivkah College in Kfar Chabad, she began her career in education as an elementary school teacher in Jerusalem. In 2001, Leah founded the Center City Jewish Preschool with a small group of only 7 children. The goal was to create a warm and nurturing environment for young children to play, learn and grow and where they would feel loved because their teachers believed in them. Today, the preschool is renowned in the community as a place which unites children, teachers and families in a positive and constructive early childhood experience. As the director, Leah is committed to providing a superb educational experience for her students through ongoing exploration of progressive educational methods, so that each and every child can reach their true potential and become a contributing member of a caring community. Leah and her husband are the proud parents of seven children.
